QGrip CMDB

QGrip CMDB

Applications and SQL Server objects are added to the QGrip CMDB

The QGrip CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is the very heart of QGrip. It contains the Applications within an Organisation together with their owning Units/Departments and the SQL Server objects. The Applications need to be added manually and the SQL Server objects are kept up-to-date with the Discover process.

Link SQL Server objects to Application

Most tools focus solely on the SQL Server components and the link between the connecting applications and their SQL Server objects is often missing. QGrip, on the contrary, requires that each SQL Server object is linked to an application. A complete overview of all objects belonging to an Application can easily be found the QGrip-UI (User Interface).

The information in the QGrip CMDB is not only used to display the objects in the QGrip-UI. It is also used for Authorisation, Request Jobs, Free Space monitoring, Charges (Split Costs), etc. The content of the QGrip CMDB can easily be exported and serve as input for import to your own Organisation CMDB.

Application Based

Job request, select Application first.

Whenever an Application related job is requested, the first choice is always the application. Environment and DBHost/Database is filled with available values and filtered after each choice. The QGrip-User will only be able to see and select the applications/environments he/she is authorised for.
