QGrip Layer
QGrip will form a centralised layer between the IT Department and the SQL Server Environment.
QGrip Components
The QGrip layer consists of 3 components:
- QGrip Server(s)
- QGrip Database
- QGrip-UI (User Interface)
Everything that takes place on the SQL Server environment is controlled and managed from the QGrip database. The database contains the Queues with jobs that will be picked up by the worker processes on the QGrip servers. A job is triggered either by a schedule or a with a request from a QGrip-User. When a job has been executed on the SQL Server environment, the job output is saved in the QGrip database. The QGrip-UI connects to the QGrip database and is used as single point to manage the whole SQL Server environment and to configure QGrip. Note that the QGrip-UI solely communicates with the QGrip Database and never directly with the SQL Server Environment.
